What is the difference between NAMBPAC's non-federal account & multi-candidate account?

NAMBPAC'S multi-candidate account is comprised of individual donations called "hard dollars." Hard dollars represent an individual's earnings, which he or she wishes to contribute. These funds are donated to political candidates for election & re-election. NAMBPAC'S non-federal account is comprised of corporate donations called "soft dollars." Soft dollars are a company's or association's earnings, which help defray the administrative costs of operating the PAC.

Why should I donate to NAMBPAC?

When you contribute to NAMBPAC you are helping your business and, on a larger scale, the mortgage broker industry. NAMB members are able to build a united voice on Capitol Hill and provide a key role in the campaign process by contributing funds to support candidates who share the same view points & outlook for our industry.

By sending messages to candidates and elected leaders, NAMBPAC provides pivotal information that helps decision makers on Capitol Hill know & understand the issues affecting the mortgage broker industry.

Can my company contribute to NAMBPAC?

Yes. However the money your company donates will go into the NAMBPAC non-federal account.

ON NAMB’S AGENDA

The Gold Star Spouses Non-Monetary Benefits Act is in the first stage of the legislative process. The Department of Defense and Department of Veteran Affairs provide various benefits to assist with those hardships. However, many of those benefits are forfeited once a surviving spouse remarries before age 57, or in some cases, age 55.

H.R. 2827, the Captain James C. Edge Gold Star Spouse Equity Act, was introduced by Congressmen Michael Waltz (FL-6) & Seth Moulton (MA-6) and would "amend titles 10 and 38, United States Code, to restore benefits to widows & widowers of servicemembers killed in the line of duty."

These bills are in the first stage of the legislative process, and will be on NAMB's lobbying agenda at the Legislative & Regulatory Conference in April.
