About Your Panel:
Richard Cortés is a senior advisor in Bradley’s Banking & Financial Services Practice Group and served as a financial services regulator with a record of enhancing industry standards in the banking and mortgage industries. His background includes working as a principal financial examiner for the State of Connecticut’s Department of Banking, where he led the mortgage examination and mortgage licensing teams. Rich is considered by many as the Godfather of the MCR for his work as chair of multiple NMLS working groups and committees to develop and enhance NMLs reports while he was a state regulator.
Bob Niemi, CMB, is the Director of Government Affairs for Weiner Brodsky & Kider PC. Bob brings a unique perspective from his experience and relationships to advise lenders on a wide array of regulatory and compliance matters, including state licensing, examination survival, and acquisitions. His commitment to the industry extends beyond his day-to-day responsibilities at WBK, serving as the Chair of the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators Advisory Council, Chair of the Certified Mortgage Banker Society for the MBA, frequent NAMB speaker, and Secretary/Treasurer of the MBA of Florida.
